McFLY started when Tom Fletcher auditioned for the well-known band, Busted. He missed out on the place to Charlie, but
it was because of that, that McFLY was born...
He met up with Bolton-born Danny Jones and together they would write songs. After a while, they decided to hold an audition
for the two other members of McFLY. That's where Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd step in...
Poor Dougie was so nervous that he actually threw up before his audition, but he needn't have worried as he obviously
got the part!
The name McFLY comes from Michael J Fox's character in 'Back to the future'. At first, Danny wasn't too keen on the name,
but when he saw his name on the side of the manure truck, he loved it!
